Started from a trip to China in 2024
In China phones are essential, everything runs through them from payments to house keys. As someone whose phone is always low, I immediately fell in love with the service. I could take one from my hotel and return it to another station across the city, freed from the shackles of my battery percentage.
The first ten units
After visiting a few manufacturers, I designed the brand and bought the first 10 units, bringing ZAPT to life.
There are now over 100 units across the UK, run mainly through custom software I developed that handles the business operations.
The system that runs it
Every station, rental and venue in one view. Replenishment, pricing and venue payouts run off the same data instead of out of a spreadsheet.
